Mmmm, a hot tasty pizza loaded with all your favourite toppings. The slice warms up the tips of your fingers and you carefully pick it up, watching the gooey cheese pull away.
And before you romantically shove the tip into your gob, there’s somewhere else it needs to go first, into the dip, obviously.
Because, let’s be honest, no Domino’s pizza is complete without lashings of the famous garlic and herb dip. But as the product is withdrawn, fans have been shocked by just how many calories are in it.
Although, it hasn’t been pulled out because of its calorific tendency but rather due to the health risk of a potential allergy contamination.

Domino’s has had to recall its Garlic & Herb and Honey & Mustard dips with some customers saying they’d had an ‘itchy mouth’ from one of them.
One user took to X to share a screenshot of an email from the pizza giants as they wrote: “Hi @Dominos_UK, please say you’re going to shout about this on social media as well as burying this in people’s emails.
“I was wondering why I had an itchy mouth and felt sick after dipping my pizza in one of these last week, and other people’s allergies aren’t as mild as mine.”
Turns out Domino’s found some batches of the dips ‘contained traces of peanut which could pose a risk for people with peanut allergies’.
And while it might be having a problem right now, it seems the high calorie content hasn’t been something to put fans off – some even drink it from the pot.
As per the latest Nutrition Information Guide, the popular garlic and herb dip contains a mega 169kcal in a 25g pot and 675kcal in the big 100g pots.
But it’s just so good… (Domino’s)
Yep, that’s more than three big slices of Domino’s cheese and tomato pizza.
And users previously wrote on X: “Devastated to discover the garlic and herb big dip pot from Domino’s is 675 calories… I drink that stuff man…”
With another echoing: “A large garlic and herb dip from Domino’s has 675 calories in it. That’s actually a disgusting amount.”
Well, it doesn’t change how tasty it is though, does it?
In a previous statement to LADbible in 2022, a Domino’s spokesperson said: “Our Garlic & Herb Big Dip is great for sharing with family and friends and serves four people. Single size pots are also available at 169 cals each. One serving of the dip, plus three slices of our delicious Vegi Sizzler pizza, which is less than 180 cals per slice, is just under 700 cals.
“We’re committed to providing transparent nutritional information on our website, our app and on menus, to enable customers to keep making informed decisions about how they choose to enjoy our piping hot pizza.”
LADbible has contacted Domino’s for comment.
