A former co-star of James Franco’s revealed how she felt about working alongside the actor during an awkward ‘f**k, marry, kill’ question.

It’s no secret that not everybody will get along in a workplace and acting is no different to any other job.

But unfortunately for TV and film stars, their work can sometimes lead them to sharing pretty intimate moments with their colleagues – which means it could be pretty awkward if you don’t get along.

For actor Zoey Deutch it would appear this scenario happened during a film the pair previously shot together.

During an appearance on Chicks In The Office back in 2022 the 30-year-old was asked by hosts Ria Ciuffo and Francesca Mariano to rate a series of her co-stars in a ‘f**k, marry, kill’ scenario.

The hosts were quizzing Deutch about whether or not she had a ‘favourite’ actor she’d worked with – which included Dylan O’Brien (Not Okay, 2022), Zac Efron (Dirty Grandpa, 2016) and Glen Powell (Set It Up, 2018) – to which Mariano noted: “That’s a good marry, f**k, kill [list].”

Deutch then joked that there’s more actors she could add to the list, including one which would be her kill option.

“I definitely have a kill,” she added.

However, the actress wasn’t planning on giving the name away too quickly, making the pair guess who the unlucky individual was.

After eliminating O’Brien, Efron and Powell from the ‘kill’ shortlist, the co-hosts whipped out Deutch’s IMDb, which led the pair to the 127 Hours star.

“James Franco?” Ciuffo asked, which which Deutch coyly refused to answer and instead reached for a bottle of water on the desk.

So what’s the deal between Zoey Deutch and James Franco?

For those unaware, Deutch and Franco appeared together in 2016 romcom Why Him?, which required the pair to play an on-screen boyfriend and girlfriend.

Deutch would later reflect on the moment during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2018 where she was asked about what it was like to kiss the actor.

“Meh,” replied Deutch.

When pressed for further details by Cohen, the actress went on to add that it was ‘very not memorable’ and seemingly confirmed that he had bad breath.

A bad kiss doesn’t seem to be the only grievance Deutch has against Franco either, as the actress had previously spoken out after the actor was accused of sexual misconduct after Why Him? was released.

Franco would go on to categorically deny all allegations at the time, later admitting in 2021 to engaging in sexual intercourse with students from his now closed acting school and suffering from a sex addiction

Meanwhile Deutch shared her support for the women speaking out.

“I am so proud and in awe of the people who have come forward about [James Franco],” she said in a statement to The New York Post.

LADbible has contacted James Franco’s representatives for a comment.
