According to insiders who spoke to Page Six, Megan allegedly discovered “upsetting” messages on MGK’s phone during the holiday, prompting her to ask him to leave early.
One source claimed that Megan “became suspicious” of the musician and later allegedly found texts involving other women, which ultimately led to the split.
The insider added: “She had trust issues with him because of past behavior. She wanted to rebuild that trust and was excited about their future together, but this discovery changed everything.”
Well, it seems that MGK isn’t taking it too well.
The ‘Bloody Valentine’ singer shared a snippet of his heartfelt pop-punk rendition of Wham!’s classic ‘Last Christmas’ on Instagram, paired with an emoji of a bandaged heart, per E! News.

During the performance, MGK strummed a striking red guitar while singing the emotional lines: “Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but the very next day, you gave it away.”
The singer added: “This year, to save me from tears, I’ll give it to someone special.”
It’s unclear when the special was filmed, but MGK’s choice of song comes at a tumultuous time.
Megan’s ex-husband, Brian Austin Green, 51, shared his unfiltered thoughts on the split during a chance encounter with a TMZ reporter in Los Angeles.
When asked about the breakup, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star said he was unaware of the news and sighed audibly upon hearing the details.
“How old is he? Do you know? He’s in his 30s, isn’t he? Christ,” Brian said, shaking his head. He added: “But in your 30s, like, f**k. Grow up. Like, she’s pregnant.”

Brian and Megan were together for 16 years, including 10 years of marriage, and share three sons: Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, eight.
Despite his frustration with MGK’s alleged behavior, Brian expressed concern for Megan and her children. “I just want the best for her, the baby, and our kids,” he said. “That’s a shame.”
Brian described Megan as being “so excited” about the pregnancy and the future with MGK, calling the situation “tragic.”
He admitted he didn’t know all the facts but shared his heartbreak for her and their family.
“The kids were excited for life and the change, and all of that. It’s just heartbreaking,” he added.
While Megan and MGK have yet to address the breakup publicly, could the Christmas classic give us an insight into how emotional it’s all been?
