IT’S A BABY GIRL! Cardi B and Offset welcomed their third child weeks after announcing their divorce. See First Glimpse Of Newborn
On Thursday, September 12, the rapper, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, made the announcement on Instagram. She posted a carousel of pictures and clips of the joyous occasion that included her sister Hennessy, ex-husband Offset and their two other children: six-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave. She started off the carousel with a photo of herself smiling big while she held her newborn in her arms.
The 31-year-old captioned the post, “the prettiest lil thing” with the pink flower and sparkling heart emojis and the date “9/7/24.” It would seem the baby was born the past Saturday. This is Cardi’s third child with Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus.
Fans took the comments to share their excitement over the news and others defended Offset being present at the birth. One fan said: “Congratulations!! You rocked that pregnancy!” A second fan said: Omgggg that was fast lol. Congrats sis! Love you always” Another said: “Offset is the father of her baby so y’all expect him not to be there because thats not y’all business.” Rapper Yung Miami, who is one half of the City Girls, wrote, “Congratulations,” with a heart eyed emoji and two double heart emojis.
Cardi first announced her pregnancy on August 1 while she also filed for divorce from the 32-year-old Migos member. Her pregnancy post on Instagram began with the caption: “With every ending comes a new beginning!” The-mother-of-three went on to thank the unborn child for the bring her more love, life and renewing her power.
She added that they have taught her she can have it all. She concluded saying that the unborn child and her two other children have shown her why it’s worth to push through life’s challenges.
Cardi’s reps confirmed the divorce news to PEOPLE and told them what led to the divorce as speculations of cheating ran rampant. They told the outlet that the the decision to end their marriage was “not based on cheating rumors, but rather has been a long time coming.”
According to her divorce filing, the Bronx native is requesting primary custody of their children along with child support. Cardi first filed for divorce in September 2020. At the time, the filing said their marriage was “irretrievably broken” and there was “no prospects for reconciliation.”
But then in October 2020, Cardi shared on an Instagram Live that she was back with Offset. Throughout their marriage the two have been on-again and off-again.
