Zayn Malik is kicking off his tour with a tribute to Liam Payne.
The 31-year-old “Pillowtalk” singer performed the first show of his Stairway to the Sky Tour on Saturday night (November 23) at the O2 Academy Leeds in Leeds, England.
At the end of the show, Zayn paid tribute to his late One Direction bandmate.
After Zayn walked off stage, an image appeared on the screen, reading, “Liam Payne 1993-2024, love you bro,” with a pink heart.
Zayn was originally scheduled to begin the tour last month, but he postponed the first several shows in the wake of Liam‘s tragic passing.
Earlier this week, Zayn reunited with One Direction band mates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan at Liam‘s funeral.
