It’s safe to say not all tattoos are created equally.
Some are beautiful dedications to the people and things that mean the most to us.
Others are drunken mistakes we’re forced to relive every time we look down.
And some are just downright ugly.
But one footballer is regretting getting inked for an entirely different reason.
On 8 October, Brazilian full-back and former Real Madrid player Vinicius Tobias’ ex-girlfriend Ingrid Lima gave birth to a baby girl named Maitê.

In 2022, the now-20-year-old signed a £6 million contract with Shakhtar Donetsk before being acquired on loan by Real Madrid, and in 2021, he was named by The Guardian as one of the 60 best young talents across the globe, as per TalkSport.
He returned to Shakhtar for the start of this season and has played five times in the 2024/25 campaign.
Despite his separation from Lima, Tobias was under the impression that the baby was his, and decided to get her name tattooed on his arm, alongside the words ‘te amo’ (‘I love you’ in Portuguese).
However, Lima has since taken to social media to announce that Tobias is not Maitê’s biological father – a revelation The Daily Mail reports was made a week after.
In a post shared with her 130,000 Instagram followers, she wrote: “I came to give a statement about something that is getting annoying and that, unfortunately, I would have to come out on publicly to give you an explanation.

“Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a while. During that time, I was in a relationship with someone and so was he. We both moved on with our lives.
“In the meantime, Maitê came along. We decided to do a DNA test, and Maitê is not Vinicius’ daughter.”
Tobias is yet to comment on the result of the DNA test.
Following this, Lima has called for the public to stop attacking Tobias, stating that they had settled things amicably.
“I sincerely ask that to stop attacking him, it was at my request that he not attend the delivery and not post anything about Maitê until the exam comes out,” she said.
“Vinicius and I have already sat down and talked amicably. I wish him the best things in the world, that both can follow their lives in peace.”
