On November 21, 2024, Aguilera and her daughter Summer graced the H&M Times Square reopening, showcasing a refined space with immersive experiences and the latest fashion-forward collections.

The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter noted, “I am so excited to be here at H&M’s gorgeous new store, in Times Square no less. What perfect timing for this location to reopen with their new collection just before the start of the holiday season. We’re very excited to bring on the joy for the season!”
For the event, Christina Aguilera sported high-waisted leather shorts with gold eyelet detailing. She paired the attire with tights, a black top, thigh-high boots, and a long, velvet coat that nearly touched the floor. Summer matched her mom’s style in a graphic sweatshirt, loose-fitting jeans, and sneakers.

Fans wasted no time sharing their thoughts on Aguilera’s outfit. They also analyzed her daughter’s mood at this glamorous event. One fan was stunned by Aguilera’s transformation, saying, “Reopening of her new face too 😮,” while another bluntly declared“She’s botched.”

A few couldn’t help but attribute the changes to the popular medication. One user commented“Ozempic face hard.” There were those who felt the singer was unrecognizable, with one fan stating“My lord can’t even recognize Christina….plastic surgery is completely off the hook.”

Another user added“She doesn’t even look like herself anymore. It’s really too bad. She always had a unique look and spirit and she looks cookie cutter [sic] now.” An individual with similar views commented“That’s not her. That’s a reboot. She never looked that good when she was young, now all of a sudden she’s flawless. Nah.”

Similarly, another fan wrote“Have to agree she no longer looks like she did… too much plastic surgery. Her daughter is adorable though.” The fashion choices also sparked debate, with one user unimpressed by Aguilera’s attire, commenting“That bikini doesn’t look good, even if it’s golden colour….😬.”

Others found the gold outfit controversial, with a fan remarking“Remember to always bring your daughter with you when you go out to be a sex symbol in a gold diaper.” One fan even questioned the appropriateness of her wardrobe, “Why is she wearing gold granny panties out in public.”

Another criticized her look, “Why do these celebrities have to wear underwear in public instead of a nice mini dress or skirt or shorts [sic]. Not a good role model for young kids.” The spotlight also fell on Aguilera’s daughter, with some fans commenting on her apparent discomfort. “The kid looks so forced to be there. Let kids have a real fun not the fake ones [sic],” one said.

Another fan observed the child’s reaction, “Kid looking at her mom for the first time as if stranger. Completely covered herself uncomfortable. And the mom? Oblivious.” Some even noticed the daughter’s unease, with one comment saying“Her kid wondering why her mom doesn’t have her pants on.”

Finally, there were those who took issue with Aguilera’s behavior, saying“It’s not only the phony look, it’s the over the top exaggerated phony behavior. Her poor daughter.” Another person agreed“Awful, never. Understood the voice, style or attitude. No class.”

One final negative comment summarized the sentiment with, “That poor girl. Brush her hair. She looks so out of place. That has to be her daughter. Some of these stars [sic] kids look so left out and grubby.”

Not everyone was critical, though. One fan defended Aguilera, “Xtina is looking flawless nowadays and the only things haters could say are ozempic & unrecognizable! Nice try though 😂.”

Aguilera is no stranger to online comments that criticize her appearance, as well as those targeting other celebrities. She has previously expressed empathy for those struggling with the pressures of social media, recognizing that many face judgment due to societal expectations and outdated ideals about aging.

However, she noted, “I’ve grown up in this business. I started performing at six or seven and then I broke when I was a teenager. No matter what you do, you’re going to have people that hate on you.”

The singer added, “The bigger you are and the more successful, unfortunately, that comes with more hate or more scrutiny. And I’m a very sensitive person, but I’m also very tough at the end of the day.”

Aguilera is mindful of the day her daughter may start facing the pressures of social media and public judgment, though she’s not there yet. Reflecting on the re-release of the “Beautiful” video, she highlighted the importance of teaching kids to embrace their individuality.

The singer encourages her daughter to prioritize what feels right for her, even when unsure about what to wear. Her advice to her daughter is simple, “Wear what you like. It doesn’t matter at the end of the day. You’re going to have an amazing day and you’re going to feel amazing. It’s just clothes.”

As for cosmetic procedures such as Botox, Aguilera, partnered with Xeomin and Merz Aesthetics for non-invasive body enhancement. She emphasized the importance of being open about body enhancements within one’s comfort zone.

Xeomin, a botulinum toxin injectable, is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while Merz Aesthetics is the company that markets Xeomin and other aesthetic treatments. While Aguilera advocates for embracing individual choices without judgment, she values safety and ensures that whatever she puts in her body aligns with her health and lifestyle.
