Jake Paul taken to social media to share his thoughts on the bout

Jake Paul has issued his first public message to Mike Tyson after beating the 58-year-old boxer in the ring.

The former YouTuber turned boxer enjoyed a landmark win in his professional fighting career after defeating Tyson via unanimous decision in front of crowds at the AT&T Stadium in Texas last night.

Tyson was able to take the lead in the initial rounds, however age would soon catch up to the boxing icon – allowing 27-year-old Paul to be given the win after it went to the judges scorecards.

Despite the tense moments in the run up to the fight, which showed Tyson slapping and pushing Paul during tense press conference moments, the mood changed significantly once the fight was over.

Paul can even be seen bowing to the older boxer at one point in the ring, seemingly as a sign of respect from the younger fighter.

He has now shared his admiration for Tyson again, thanking his opponent for ‘the chance to share the ring’.

Taking to X, he wrote: “Thank you to every fighter on the card last night, thank u Netflix, thank u Jerry Jones, thank u to my MVP team, thank u to the legend Mike Tyson for giving me a chance to share the ring with him, thank u to my family and close circle of friends..and above all, thank you God.

In a separate tweet, Paul wrote: “Grateful to God, my family and my friends. We did it,” before calling turning his attention to MMA fighter Conor McGregor.

Seemingly singling out the 36-year-old as his next opponent in the ring, he wrote: “Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs. That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t.”

However Paul will have to wait a little longer before he steps in the ring again, as both he and Tyson will now have to serve a 24-day suspension from the sport in order for their bodies to fully recover.

However it’s not like either boxer needs to be stepping back into the ring anytime soon, with both men earning far more than enough to take some well deserved time off.
