A Netflix series dubbed ‘under-appreciated’ by its viewers is the only show in history to have an entire season where every episode is rated a 9+/10.
The show in question has had a pretty stellar second season, with all nine episodes being reviewed above a 9/10 on IMDb, despite a bit of a rocky start with its debut season back in 2021.
“Arcane is the only show in IMDB history to have an entire season where every episode is rated 9+,” one user posted on the Facebook group ‘Netflix Bangers’.
Arcane: League of Legends tells the origin story of two iconic League of Legends champions who have to put their sibling loyalties to one side as they battle on opposing fields.
Based on the popular video game League of Legends, Arcane already had a fanbase before its first season dropped in 2021.
However, that dropped to some pretty disappointing reviews, but when season two landed on Netflix earlier this month, it was the polar opposite.
Episode one and two of the season has an impressive score of 9.1 on IMDb, though scores for the show get even higher.
The sixth episode was seen by most as the best with a 9.8 score, while episode three and five are nearly as impressive with 9.6.
All in all, Arcane is pretty darn good and many are flocking to social media sites to tell fellow subscribers about it.
“Animation is especially good. I found myself pressing the ’10 second rewind’ constantly to rewatch small body language details. Not just behavioural, but also object interactions,” one person penned on Reddit.
A second added: “I watched it with 0 expectations, I played league years ago but didn’t care about anything related to it for a long time, yet it still blew my mind. I was expecting something dumb and light-hearted but was very surprised how dark they were willing to go, this show deals with some heavy themes. Everything is top quality, the visuals are incredibly beautiful, the music is great, the characters and the story are very well written, the pacing is damn near perfect.”
While a third remarked: “It finally happened: Game to Movie that didn’t suck.”
Season two of Arcane is streaming on Netflix now.
