The Hollywood couple cherishes family time through games and date nights. They also support a meaningful initiative in their Nashville home, which serves as their passion project.

Country music star Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, share a love story marked by their passion for family and philanthropy. Formerly based in California, they lost their cherished Pacific Palisades home in the devastating wildfires.

The couple’s connection began in 2001, when the singer invited his future wife to star in the music video for his song “I’m Gonna Miss Her.” He had been smitten with her years earlier after seeing her performance in the 1991 film “Father of the Bride.”

The couple later exchanged vows in March 2003 and built a family together, welcoming their first son, William, nicknamed Huck, in 2007, followed by their younger son, Jasper, in 2009.

Parenting their boys has been a rewarding experience, as Brad shared in an interview, “So far they’re pretty good,” while expressing pride in the young men his sons were becoming. The father of two highlighted the need to nurture humility and kindness in children. “You have to encourage that. Just encourage the good behavior,” he noted.

The Paisleys also take a thoughtful approach to screen time, allowing television only on weekends. “Otherwise, during the week, there’s just enough interesting things in the world without turning the TV on much of the week,” Brad explained, reflecting their commitment to fostering curiosity and meaningful engagement in their sons’ lives.

The couple’s dedication to raising their kids in a thoughtful and nurturing environment was also reflected in the home they chose to create those cherished family moments.

In March 2004, Brad and Kimberly purchased their first family home, a 3,304-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-bathroom property in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, for $1,644,000. Originally constructed in 1925, the residence underwent thoughtful renovations that brought modern convenience while maintaining its historic character.

Among its standout features were a cozy kitchen with stone floors and a charming breakfast nook, a detached garage with a bonus room above, and a stone patio adorned with a vine-covered pergola. The property also offered stunning views, making it an idyllic retreat.

The family’s time in their first home was filled with unforgettable memories, but their connection to the house remained even after moving on. The Paisleys sold the Pacific Palisades property in September 2013 for $2.5 million. Tragically, in January 2025, the same home was destroyed in the devastating California wildfires that swept through the area.

As the fires raged, the guitarist shared his sorrow on social media and reflected, “We lived in Pacific Palisades for years. It was the first house Kim and I bought together.”

Brad also reminisced about preparing their first nursery, taking birthing classes with friends like Kevin Nealon and Susan Yeagley, and enjoying neighborhood walks to local spots like Gelson’s and Starbucks. In addition, he expressed, “That beautiful old house burned last night. As did most of that community. So many good people displaced, devastated and cast out all over LA.”

While acknowledging the scale of the tragedy, he encouraged his followers to find ways to help, adding, “Mostly right now I just want to mourn the loss of a town. And acknowledge the beauty and the memories of what it was. It is all so tragic and sad.”

Brad’s heartfelt tribute to their former California home illustrates the special role that meaningful spaces have played in his family’s life. Now based in Nashville, the Paisleys have created a new sanctuary filled with personal touches and creative inspiration.

In an interview, Brad offered a glimpse into his at-home bar, a space that reflects his personality and experiences. Among its standout features was an Air Force One glass, a treasured keepsake from the time he performed for troops in Afghanistan.

The bar also included a sitting area with four leather armchairs surrounding a round table, a spot Brad revealed was often used for writing. Guitars displayed on the walls further emphasized the room’s connection to his artistry and love of music.

The bar served as a creative space for Brad, but the pandemic in 2020 brought unexpected changes to their routines. His usually packed touring schedule was reduced to just three socially distanced drive-in concerts. Despite the challenges, he continued writing and even created a Zoom video for his single “No I in Beer.”

Meanwhile, Kimberly faced her own professional setbacks, as filming projects for her were put on hold. Reflecting on the time spent together, her husband joked in a joint interview, “I figured out I really like being around you!”

The couple, who own two dogs, embraced family time with activities like ping pong, dodge-ball, and worked on their Nashville nonprofit, The Store, which provides free groceries to those in need.

The Store became more than just a community project—it was a vision Brad and Kimberly had nurtured for five years. Kimberly shared that by the end of their first year, the nonprofit had already provided nearly 1.3 million meals to those in need, demonstrating the impact of their dedication to helping others.

In addition, the famous mother of two took up bread baking, often making focaccia with Huck, while Brad once helped her color her hair. They also found moments to reconnect as a couple, enjoying quiet date nights while their boys stayed with Brad’s parents, who were part of their quarantine bubble.

“We watch what we want to watch on TV and pick up something to eat,” Brad shared, describing the simple joys of those evenings.

After 21 years of marriage, the lovebirds have maintained a strong bond through meaningful traditions, like documenting their favorite memories together in a special journal each anniversary.
