Alec Baldwin wasn’t in the mood for jokes when a Donald Trump impersonator confronted him on the streets of New York City, bringing up the fatal Rust shooting in an attempt to provoke the actor.

The 66-year-old actor became the center of controversy on October 21, 2021, after a prop gun he was holding discharged during a scene on the set of the Western film Rust.

A round tragically killed 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.

Baldwin, who was acquitted last year after being charged with manslaughter, has maintained that he never pulled the trigger of the prop gun.

But despite his legal exoneration, the incident remains a deeply sensitive topic — and one Baldwin had no patience for when comedian Jason Scoop ambushed him outside his NYC home.

Scoop, who has gained a following for his spot-on Trump impersonations, decided to press his luck by mocking Baldwin while he unloaded luggage from his car. He approached the actor in full character, making inflammatory remarks about the shooting.

“Alec, it’s your favorite president,” Scoop said in his Trump voice. “I will offer you a total pardon for murdering that woman if you kiss the ring.”

He continued the act, taking jabs at Baldwin’s well-known Saturday Night Live portrayal of Trump and even referencing Hutchins’ death in an unsettling way.

“If you don’t want that pardon for murdering that woman in cold blood, you can call it first degree, you can call it whatever you want but it was not good,” Scoop went on. “She’s looking down on me right now smiling, happy.”

Baldwin initially ignored the comments, but after noticing a camera filming the exchange, he snapped—turning to confront the comedian with an explosive response.

“Let me ask you a question,” Baldwin said, walking toward Scoop. “You realize, by the way… My kids live in this building, but I want you to know something… If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f***ing neck in half, break your f***ing neck.”

As Baldwin stormed off, Scoop kept up the act, taking one last dig at the actor:

“He’s strong, but also he’s weak, because he murdered a woman. But that’s okay.”

Unsurprisingly, the exchange didn’t sit well with Baldwin, who has been outspoken about the emotional toll of the Rust shooting. The controversy surrounding the tragic incident was also addressed in Baldwin’s new TLC reality show, which premiered last night and gives a glimpse into how the ordeal has affected his family.

During the show, it was revealed that Baldwin has since been diagnosed with PTSD following the tragedy on the movie set.

Wife Hilaria shared: “He was diagnosed with PTSD, and he says in his darkest moments, ‘If an accident had to have happened this day, why am I still here? Why couldn’t it have been me?’”

The armorer on the set of Rust – Hannah Gutierrez-Reed – was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter on April 15 and received the maximum possible sentence which in this case was 18 months.
