Of course, Brody won the same Oscar back in 2003 for The Pianist.

During his speech, Brody said: “Winning an award like this signifies a destination and something my character references in the film. But to me, it also, beyond the pinnacle of a career, it is a chance to begin again and the opportunity to hopefully be fortunate enough so that the next 20 years of my life, I can prove that I am worthy of such meaningful, important and relevant roles.”

“I’ve been doing this since I was 12 and I know very clearly that these moments are far and few between in an actor’s life. I do not take this for granted,” Brody said. “I want to shout out my crew and amazing cast for all their amazing contributions to this, I couldn’t be here without you, and to my team for supporting me and guiding me and A24 for believing in this movie and of course to my beautiful girlfriend Georgina and my parents, thank you. I would not be here without you. God bless everyone, I love you. Thank you.”

The who’s who of Hollywood descended on the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the biggest awards night of the year.

Most people in the film business will want to get their hands on an Academy Award at some point in their lives, but only an exclusive group ever realise their dream.

One of the most desired awards is Actor in a Leading Role… or Best Actor, to you and me.

This year was as hotly contested as every other, with some of the best in the business hoping to take home an award.

Adrien Brody is the current youngest person to have ever won the Best Actor award at the Oscars for his role in The Pianist in 2003.

This year, he was nominated for his role as László Tóth in The Brutalist, which follows an architect fleeing post-war Europe in 1947 to rebuild his life in America.

Also up for the award was Timothée Chalamet, who is currently taking Hollywood by storm and shows no sign of slowing down.

He recently starred in A Complete Unknown, a biopic where he portrayed a young Bob Dylan, and he was hoping to steal Brody’s crown as the youngest ever Best Actor winner.

Colman Domingo has had a great year, and starring in Sing Sing has put him amongst the elites of Hollywood.

It follows his character, John Divine G Whitfield, who is imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit.

The drama shows the character come to terms with his situation by getting involved in a theatre group in the prison.

Ralph Fiennes is no stranger to the Oscars, as the legendary actor shines in whatever project he is part of.

Conclave is set in the Vatican, where Fiennes’ character, Cardinal Lawrence, is tasked with selecting the new Pope but finds himself trapped in a web of conspiracies.

Sebastian Stan seems to have come a long way since the MCU, and his nomination shines a light on that.

Also, his portrayal of Donald Trump is eerily accurate…

While all these men undoubtedly deserved the award, only one could take it home, and the lucky recipient was Adrien Brody.

Congrats to Brody on a very deserving win that cements him as a Hollywood legend.
