Republicans have secured a majority of seats in the Senate. While both parties battle on for the House of Representatives, this means Donald Trump’s party will control at least one chamber of Congress in 2025 and the party will be retaking control of the chamber for the first time in four years.Republican Bernie Moreno defeated Democratic senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio and in West Virginia, Jim Justice won the seat up against Joe Manchin.
In Texas, Ted Cruz defeated Collin Allred and in Florida, Rick Scott won over Debbie Mucarsel-Powell.
Although the senate has been won by the Republicans, the presidential race is still ongoing as not all the swing state results has been revealed.

What are the swing states for the 2024 US election?
These are the states that have seen very similar levels of support for Republican nominee former POTUS Trump and the Democratic Vice-President Kamala Harris ahead of the US election.
Trump won Georgia and North Carolina in the 2024 election, but the results for the remaining five swing states are yet to be revealed.
Arizona
In 2016, Trump won Arizona when he became president, but in 2020 he lost it narrowly to President Joe Biden by around 10,000 votes.
A recent poll conducted by Emerson College and The Hill between October 30 – November 2 of 900 likely voters predicted Trump coming away with 50 percent of votes and Harris with 48 percent.
Michigan
After almost three decades of being a Democratic state, Trump won Michigan in 2016, but the state flipped in President Biden’s favor in 2020.
The recent poll in Michigan by Emerson College stood at 50 percent for Harris and 48 percent for Trump out of 790 likely voters.
Nevada
Nevada has been a blue state for the last four presidential elections, but this time around, the possibility increased significantly of it flipping and becoming a red state.
The recent poll conducted with 790 likely voters and saw a tie with both Trump and Harris showing 48 percent.
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania saw Biden win by 82,000 votes in 2020, but Emerson College’s poll of 1,000 likely voters leant ever so slightly in Trump’s favour – Trump predicted as obtaining 49 percent of votes and Harris 48.
Wisconsin
A classically Democratic state, Wisconsin was flipped by Trump in 2016, however, it was flipped back in 2020 by President Biden. The recent poll of 800 likely voters saw a tie between Trump and Harris with both showing 48 percent.
A man who has been dubbed the ‘Living Nostradamus’ has a shocking prediction for the US presidential election, and it’s not good news for anyone.
Athos Salomé, 38, has claimed to have predicted a range of events in the world, such as Queen Elizabeth’s death and the coronavirus pandemic, but now,his sights have turned political.
The seer has shared his thoughts ahead of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris’s race to become the US President for the next four years, and it’s scary.
Salomé specifically spoke about what will happen if Harris wins, and it appears as though there are no real winners in this election.
As people across America are marching into their polling offices to put their name against the candidate of their choice, voting machines have begun to malfunction in some states.
But this is just the beginning of the nightmare that will apparently follow.
Athos Salomé has predicted the future (Instagram/ @athos_salome)
He explained that if Harris wins, there will be an ‘organized and systematic reaction’ from Trump and the Republican Party.
Similar to what happened when Trump lost the 2020 election, when he called out the results as being a set-up, it’ll be a case of major déjà vu.
In an interview with FEMAIL, he shared that there will be a strategic move by Republicans in power who will challenge the federal government on their decision.
He said: “In 2024, Trump’s defeat will not be a simple political farewell; it will be the start of a coordinated resistance, something unprecedented. If he loses, he probably won’t accept the result as legitimate.”
He added that Trump and his team will probably try to contest the decision via the court system and will place their bets on the Supreme Court to be on their side.
This is because the Court has a majority number of Republican-appointed judges.

Salomé also said they might try to ‘block and slow down measures by the new president’.
If successful, it may cause an ‘institutionalized fragmentation’ of society, with tons of disinformation spread across the media.
He also thinks there will be a ‘parallel reality’ where people will believe that the new elected government are ‘illegitimate, corrupt and a direct threat to true American values.’
Salomé shared that it will create a ‘crisis of public confidence’ in American institutions, and will further alienate those who think they live in a ‘camouflaged dictatorship’.
He added: “The consequence will be profound alienation, where millions of American citizens will completely disconnect from traditional sources of information, becoming immune to any attempt at reconciliation with the elected government.

“These states, by becoming less responsive to the federal government, could begin a process of decentralization that directly challenges the country’s federal structure.”
The seer shared that: “This environment of extreme polarization and distrust of democratic institutions could mark the beginning of an era of fragmentation in the United States, where the very concept of the ‘United States of America’ is threatened.
“The unity of the country will be at the mercy of a leader who, even out of power, has a unique and unprecedented influence, capable of molding the reality of a significant fraction of the American population.”
That’s pretty bleak
After months of campaigning and back and forths, in the coming days either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump will become President-elect – and whichever way it swings, residents would be smart to brace for turmoil.
Voters will remember the last time Trump lost an election, just weeks before he was due to leave the White House thousands of his supporters flocked to Washington DC on January 6, 2021, to demonstrate – dubbed the Capitol Riots (SAUL LOEB/AFP via Getty Images)
“There will be riots regardless of the outcome,” one person predicted on Twitter.
Another shared: “My prediction: 1. If Trump wins there will be riots by the Left. 2. If Trump loses there will be no riots from Right.”
While a third typed: “Maybe it’s just me getting more aware and in the game. But this election seems the most charged that I’ve seen in my 27 years. No matter who wins, there will be riots lmao.”
The ugly sentiment is shared with people up and down the US, but there is a reason many believe the country is on the cusp of anarchy.
There have been three alleged assassination attempts on Trump since he began campaigning as part of the 2024 US Presidential Election, one of which saw the former president come within seconds of death – with a bullet actually killing a rally attendee Corey Comperatore.

Then in the last few weeks, two ballot boxes have been set on fire in Washington and Oregon – both states being Democratic strongholds – while in Arizona a 60-year-old was arrested in connection to shots being fired at a Democratic National Committee office.
While within the last few days there have been even more drama, a man was arrested for making threats at Harris campaigners who were canvassing in Michigan – he allegedly attempted to run them over in his car.
A few days earlier an 18-year-old from Florida was arrested for allegedly wielding a machete outside an early-vote polling station while waving pro-Trump flags.
Now, Sheriff Tom Dart, of Cook County, Illinois, has stressed to the Economist that he is ‘not a panic peddler’ but is preparing for the worst.

He told the publication: “I am just sitting on data that is indisputable…saying that we’ve never had more people saying political violence is OK.”
It comes as he was briefed by Robert Pape, a University of Chicago academic studying political violence.
Pape is an expert in the field and has issued warnings to 199 other police officers to prepare themselves.
It comes as a poll created by Associated Press and NORC at the University of Chicago, previously the National Opinion Research Center, revealed that their data found a fifth of all Americans support the use of violence to either restore Donald Trump to presidency or prevent him from taking charge.Speaking to the Economist, Pape urged: “We are going forward into a season of political violence.”
Yesterday evening (September 10), Donald Trump and Kamala Harris went head-to-head in the presidential debate hosted by ABC News at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
While Trump has previously suggested he may introduce a 15 to 16 week national ban on abortion, when asked about banning abortion in August he told Fox & Friends there ‘will not be a federal ban’ and he ‘would never’ enforce one, putting the issue ‘now back in the states where it belongs,’ as quoted by CBS News.
And at the presidential debate last night, the question was raised once again as to both candidates’ stances on abortion laws.
Referring to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz – Harris’ Democratic vice presidential nominee – Trump said: “[H]er vice presidential pick says abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine. He also says execution after birth – it’s execution, no longer abortion because the baby is born, – is okay. And that’s not okay with me. Hence the vote.”
However, the former president of the US was quickly corrected and shut down by the debate’s moderator, a member of CBS News’ Confirmed Team.

Moderator Linsey Davis wasted no time hopping in to correct Trump, responding: “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born.”
Indeed, Governor Walz has never said that killing a baby after it’s born is ‘okay’ and neither does the bill he signed in 2023 to ensure all of the state’s existing protections – in relation to the right to abortion – remain in place for the future no matter who enters the courts.
The Minnesota Star Tribune details the changes which Governor Walz signed into law last year, explaining decisions about a baby which come in later stages of pregnancy – such as a fetal defect or risk to the mother’s life – are now left up to the doctors and families opposed to the state.

When it comes to a child being born, the updated law maintains if the baby is born alive even ‘as a result of an abortion’ it will be recognized as a human person and ‘accorded immediate protection under the law’.
Chapter 145, section 423 of the 2023 Minnesota Statutes reads: “All reasonable measures consistent with good medical practice … Shall be taken by the responsible medical personnel to care for the infant who is born alive.”
As Davis said, it is not legal in any state to execute an infant after birth and Harris also responded: “Well, as I said, you’re going to hear a bunch of lies.”

It’s not the usual McDonald’s order, but customers could have slipped the query in as they were being served by none other than presidential candidate Donald Trump, when he appeared to take on a shift at the fast-food chain on October 20.
The Republican could be seen handing out orders and cooking food in posts shared on his website and TikTok feed, but some viewers aren’t convinced by the performance.
Internet users began to do some digging after Trump shared the news of his shift, explaining that he wanted to work at McDonald’s because he claimed a story about his opponent, Kamala Harris, working there was untrue.
For reference, Harris’ campaign and a friend who knew Harris at the time have stood by the claim that the Democratic candidate is a former McDonald’s employee, The New York Times reports.
But Trump has insisted Harris is lying – without any evidence – saying in his video: “I’ve always wanted to work at McDonald’s, I never did. I’m running against somebody that said she did but it turned out to be a totally phoney story.”

Trump handed orders out of the drive-thru window and said he was having ‘a lot of fun’, but some people claim to have found ‘proof’ that the former president was lying about the work he did at McDonald’s.
One post shared on Reddit features an image of a sign featuring the recognizable McDonald’s logo, and states the restaurant in Feasterville, Pennsylvania would be ‘closed… to accommodate a visit at the request of former President Trump and his campaign’.
The post also featured an image of a car waiting at an empty drive-thru, with a caption claiming: “There was a car rehearsal.”
On Trump’s website, it states that the former president ‘cooked food, bagged fries [and] worked the drive-through’, though ABC News reports that the restaurant itself was indeed closed to the public while Trump was visiting.

But while Trump wouldn’t have had to serve regular customers approaching the counter, reporters at the scene saw the former president being taught how to properly cook and season the McDonald’s fries, and serving people in the drive-thru lane.
Trump also took questions from the media as they were positioned outside, though towards the end of his appearance he described it as a ‘strange place to do a news conference’.
After footage of Trump’s shift was shared online, Joseph Costello, spokesperson for the Harris campaign, said the visit ‘showed exactly what we would see in a second Trump term: exploiting working people for his own personal gain’.
In a statement, Costello added: “Trump doesn’t understand what it’s like to work for a living, no matter how many staged photo ops he does, and his entire second term plan is to give himself, his wealthy buddies, and giant corporations another massive tax cut.”
In response to the accusations of Trump ‘staging’ the appearance, Taylor Rogers, a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, doubled down on the claim that Harris ‘lied about ever working at McDonald’s’ and alleged she is ‘now lying about President Trump’s historic moment making delicious French fries at a McDonald’s in battleground Pennsylvania’.
Rogers added: “The truth: President Trump has now worked at McDonald’s longer than Kamala Harris ever did.”
