Trump makes massive gains with Hispanics nationwide and black voters in swing states: exit polls

Former President Donald Trump made breakthrough gains with Hispanics nationwide and substantially improved his standing with black voters in swing states in the 2024 election, according to exit polls.

Hispanic men supported Trump on Election Day over Vice President Kamala Harris by a stunning 10-point margin, according to an NBC News exit poll.

The former president received 54% support from Hispanic men compared to Harris’ 44% backing.

By comparison, Joe Biden won Latino males by a 23-point margin (59%-36%) in the 2020 contest.

The vice president received 62% support from Latinas, down from Biden’s 69% backing in 2020, the NBC News exit poll showed.

Harris’ 25-point edge over Trump with Hispanic females was notably lower than Biden’s 39-point advantage in 2020.

Overall, Trump won 45% of Hispanic voters nationwide compared to Harris’ 53% share, according to an exit poll conducted by Edison Research.

However, Trump’s share with Hispanics of both genders was up 13 percentage points compared to the pollster’s 2020 exit survey.

The 45th president also made inroads with black voters – gains that were readily apparent in swing state exit polling.

In Wisconsin, Trump more than doubled his support among black voters compared with 2020, NBC’s exit poll found.

The GOP nominee received about 20% of the black vote in the Badger State, far less that Harris’ 78% backing but a substantial improvement over his numbers last cycle.

In 2020, Trump only won 8% of black voters in Wisconsin.

In Georgia, Harris raked in 83% of the black vote, less than Biden’s 91% support in 2020, according to a Fox News exit poll.

The vice president did worse with black men in the Peach State – a demographic former President Barack Obama shamed for supporting Trump.

Seventy-three percent of black men in Georgia backed Harris compared to 25% for Trump – a marked decline from the 87% of black males Biden won in the state in 2020.

Harris was also running behind Biden with black women in the Peach State, receiving 89% support from the demographic compared to the president’s 95% backing four years ago.

Fox News’ exit poll showed a similar trend in North Carolina, where Trump won about 20% of black men and 11% of the overall black vote in the swing state.

In 2020, Trump only received 6% and 5% support from black men and black voters overall, respectively, in North Carolina.

In Pennsylvania – the state that could decide the winner of the 2024 election – the trend was also apparent.

What do you think?

Biden received 94% support from black voters in the Keystone State in 2020 compared to Trump’s 5% backing – figures that were roughly the same with just black men.

However, this time around, Trump’s backing ballooned to 17% overall and 23% among black men in Pennsylvania.
