Elon Musk has claimed ‘the future’s going to be fantastic’ as Donald Trump gets closer to victory in the US presidential election.

The X owner has been a long-time supporter of Trump, even attending some of the former president’s rallies during the campaign.

Musk joined Trump and a number of his allies to watch the results coming in overnight, with Trump even speaking about Musk as he declared victory.

As many of his close family and friends joined him on stage, Trump said: “Everybody up here is very special. We have a new star – a star is born, Elon [Musk].

“He is an amazing guy, we were sitting together tonight. He spent two weeks in Philadelphia and different parts of Pennsylvania campaigning. That’s why I love you, Elon.”

Meanwhile, Musk has stated ‘the future’s going to be fantastic’ with a post on Twitter, with the SpaceX founder posting a picture of himself photoshopped into the Oval Office.

‘Let that sink in’ the billionaire captioned the image, as Musk said previously in the night how the American people had given Trump ‘a crystal clear mandate for change’.

As he edges closer to that magic 270 total for election glory, Trump declared victory in front of his supporters.

The former president said he had ‘made history’ after being projected to win the battleground states of North CarolinaGeorgia and Pennsylvania.

“Every single day I will be fighting for you, with every single breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that children deserve,” Trump said.

“And that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age for America.”

“I think that we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America,” Vance said.

“Under president Trump’s leadership, we’re never going to stop fighting for you, for your dreams, for the future of your children.

One of the key states Trump has taken overnight is Pennsylvania, with victory there seen as the keys to the White House.

As Trump said during a rally in September: “If we win Pennsylvania, we win the whole thing. It’s very simple.”

An election official revealed to CNN that ‘at least 182,000 registered voters’ in Pennsylvania cast their ballots early on in the election process.

Although, they noted that was prior to the city picking up the remaining votes cast in-person, and votes made at drop-off locations are still to be collected.

In last two presidential elections, Pennsylvania has been considered the most likely tipping-point state and holds 19 electoral votes.

The rock band has come under fire from Trump supporters

Rock band Green Day fired a shot at former president Donald Trump by changing around some of the lyrics of one of their chart-topping songs.

Twenty years after first releasing their much-loved anthem ‘American Idiot’, the group altered the lyrics to reflect their disdain over the controversial ex-politician‘s alleged agenda.

Appearing on Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest this weekend, they performed their newly-changed hit.

The second verse to the song previously read: “Well, maybe I’m the f****t, America / I’m not a part of a redneck agenda / Now everybody, do the propaganda / And sing along to the age of paranoia.”

But during the performance, the track took aim at Trump‘s political slogan ‘Make America Great Again’.

Instead, they sung: “Well, maybe I’m the f****t, America / I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda / Now everybody, do the propaganda / And sing along to the age of paranoia.”

While thousands of social media users have since expressed their amusement at Green Day’s bold move, many of Trump’s supporters have been left less than impressed.

Among those to have since hit out at the rock and roll band for their performance, was Elon Musk.

In fact, the Tesla boss himself tweeted about the new lyrics, writing: “Green Day goes from raging against the machine to milquetoastedly raging for it [laughing emojis]”.

The California band – which now consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool – have poked fun at the eyebrow-raising politician several times in the past.

Back in 2016, for example, while attending the American Music Awards, they

coined the ‘No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA’ chant.

Last year, the band responded to Trump’s indictment by flaunting limited edition merchandise which featured his iconic mugshot.

Their latest jibe, however, comes after the high-profile politician’s efforts to overturn his 2020 election defeat and the subsequent storming of the Capitol were investigated by a US House committee.

The prospect of a possible second Trump administration has triggered many Americans – apparently including Green Day themselves – to sound the alarm out of fear of what another stint in the White House will inflict upon the US.
