Morena Baccarin Hated Kissing Ryan Reynolds And Filming Two-Day Romantic Scene In Deadpool

For most, kissing an A-lister like Ryan Reynolds would leave a lasting impression, but apparently, that’s not always the true.

Morena Baccarin, who spent two days locking lips with the Canadian star, compared the experience to “kissing a giant latex condom.” Oh my…

If you’ve seen the 2016 movie Deadpool, you know there’s a montage of sexy scenes depicting a year of intimacy. Baccarin, who played Vanessa Carlysle, the fiancée of Reynolds’ character Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool), had to kiss her on-screen partner throughout the film and its 2018 sequel.

In fairness to Reynolds, he was wearing a mask for much of the scene, which Baccarin acknowledged, praising his professionalism during the shoot.

The funny montage shows the couple dressed in various outfits to celebrate different seasons and holidays throughout the year, from Valentine’s Day to International Women’s Day and Christmas.

During a 2017 interview with Conan O’Brien, Baccarin shared details about the X-rated two-day shoot. She recalled, “[The film] was really fun… minus the two days of sex scenes, it was wonderful, the whole experience.”

Baccarin further explained, “It took two days to shoot the sex scene because I think it was us making sweet love for an entire calendar year. So it was all the holidays, you know. We dressed differently for every one.”

In a 2018 interview with People magazine, Baccarin humorously described the challenges of filming intimate scenes with Reynolds in full costume. “I keep saying that kissing him in that mask is like kissing a giant latex condom,” she said. “It basically just smells like rubber the entire time.

Not exactly what you’d want to hear from someone you’re kissing, but despite the odd circumstances, Baccarin appreciated Reynolds’ professionalism. She told Collider in 2015, “[T]here’s a lot of laughing. And that stuff is always uncomfortable. But, we made the best of it.”

She added, “By the end of the day you’re like, ‘Okay, where do you want me, how do you-?’ You’re like spreading your legs and you’re like whatever, it’s just, you get so used to each other.”
